The details
Kagyu Samye Dzong focuses on teachings from all aspects of Buddhism, meditation and mindfulness with the aim of fostering awareness for compassion in daily life. It provides a welcoming environment that champions the spirit of community where visitors can meet like-minded people.
The centre promotes peace and relaxation and offers retreat and sanctuary from the pressures of life. It also offers a space for healing and wellbeing where visitors can be helped to resolve crises and supported through their personal growth. Teachings include courses on meditation and various aspects of dharma including "pujas" (traditional practices of chanting, visualization and mantras). There are residential retreats ranging from two days to a month.
Kagyu Samye Dzong runs the Mindfulness Africa programme which allows people to develop a deep and non-judgemental acquaintance with their thoughts and emotions. The Cape Town centre is in Kenilworth with other centres in Johannesburg (Kensington and Randburg) and Harare, Zimbabwe.
