The details
Near Mossel Bay, Pinnacle Point is arguably one of South Africa's most dramatic golf courses, with a number of its holes perched on the edge of the cliffs, high above the ocean.
The course only opened in 2006 and is now widely regarded as one of the best places in the country to play. The course stretches to over 7,600 yards from the championship tees, but isn't recommended for the inexperienced due to plenty of forced carries too long for the average handicap golfer to manage. However, there are 5 tee positions to choose from, allowing golfers of all abilities to find their comfort zone and enjoy the course. Players are advised to bring plenty of balls as the rough is out of bounds.
In 2018 and 2019 Pinnacle Point was nominated as South Africa's best golf course in the 'World of Golf' awards. It has 7km of fairways, 80 bunkers and the Indian Ocean is the water hazard. No caddies are allowed - carts only.
