South Hill Wine Estate is a great escape for city-dwellers who need a breath of fresh valley air, and a quiet place in nature to relax. The estate offers a luxury farm-style experience, an on-site restaurant and wine tasting from Wednesday – Sunday 8am till 4pm. Let’s not forget the mountain and rolling vineyard views that immediately make you want to return. There are three luxury accommodations on the estate, each with its own personality that makes it unique. They are:
The South Hill Villa (the largest of the 3), consists of 6 en-suite rooms, each fitted with a king-sized bed, sleeping a total of 12 adults. It has beautiful French doors that open onto a wrap-around patio, showing off a view of indigenous gardens and vineyards, and the perfect spot for taking in the breath-taking sunsets. The outdoor space has beautiful lawns, ideal for a game of croquet. There is also a 15m pool, as well as a pizza oven and braai area. The Villa is self – catering and is available for exclusive full use.
The Honeymoon Cottage, or the Pumphouse, is slightly more secluded, and overlooks a farm dam, mountains, and the Pinot vineyards. This cottage is fully self-catering, equipped with a kitchenette, braai facilities and a woodfired hot tub. It is the perfect spot to offer couples privacy.
The newest addition, the Houseboat, or Stokies Ark. Originally a Langebaan houseboat, it was recently restored in chic Scandi-style, and moored on the banks of the estate’s largest dam. It sleeps 6 adults, or 4 children and 4 adults, fully set up with a kitchen and braai area for self-catering as well as a wood fired hot tub. It’s the ideal place for a relaxing water-based getaway – whether for a family vacation or a romantic weekend.
