A newly opened public exhibition is showing South African contemporary ceramic arts as part of the Stellenbosch Triennale.

Exploring the ancient relationship between humanity and clay, (Un)Earthed displays the works of various ceramic artists as a way to consider the identities and histories of South Africans of both past and present.

The show features the works of renowned art-makers Wim Botha, Marijka Van Velden, Githan Coopoo, Madoda Fani, Ceramic Matters, Lucinda Mudge, Ben Orkin and Marlene Steyn. Each artists offer different methods to study both people and clay through their respective practices.
