It’s that time of year again when everyone is running on fumes and looking forward to a well-deserved break. It’s been a heck of a year, and therefore all the more important to end it on a high. Or start the new one off with a bang, for that matter! Time then to gather friends and family to have some fun and create some great memories to share. Here are a few of the fabulous ways to enjoy some good times with your gang.
THE CAPE MILNER HOTEL
Cradled beneath the majestic Table Mountain in Cape Town’s trendy suburb of Tamboerskloof, lies the exquisite Cape Milner Hotel. With gorgeous views and a sophisticated, contemporary ambience, it’s the ideal location for a stylish and luxurious get-together.
Ideally located within walking distance of Kloof Street, this boutique-style hotel is designed to offer complete comfort so you can enjoy a relaxed year-end with your family, your team, or your friends, as you reflect on the year that’s passed, and dream of the year ahead.
Gather for lunch or dinner, enjoy canapés at the pool area, and sip a leisurely cocktail while watching the sunset over the fairest, finest Cape Town. Or get spoilt with a barbeque at the pergola with a glass of bubbly: ask the team at the Milner for their formal and informal set-ups. You’ll be in good hands.

THE GALLIVANTING GOOSE
The Gallivanting Goose gets groups out and about in Cape Town with interactive and engaging games where everyone gets to take part, have fun and use their brain at the same time.
The Gallivanting Goose’s unique mobile scavenger hunts pit the wits of all involved in a friendly and entertaining competition, whilst experiencing the local sights and sounds. Games are played via smartphones that are provided and all the activities are tracked in real-time, so you can always see what your opponents are up to.
The tasks take you on a whirlwind tour of your chosen destination whether that be Cape Town’s best outdoor spaces, historical sites, or urban areas. Participants need to get creative, use teamwork, good communication, and strategy to climb to the top of the leaderboard.
You can also customise the game to accommodate things such as induction training for new staff members or the launch of a new product in a fun and exciting new way.

SUP CAPE TOWN
Want to take advantage of the outdoors this year? Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) is a great activity for groups and a fantastic way to enjoy the beauty and energy of Cape Town’s CBD.
With its central location near the V&A, SUP Cape Town has ample parking, close proximity to hotel accommodation, and of course Table Mountain as a backdrop. They provide introductory lessons in Stand Up Paddleboarding on flat water (the best way to learn) at one of their 3 stations. With no hazards and no waves, the canals are an ideal place for beginners and will make you more comfortable and confident on the board.
They have tables, chairs, and an undercover area for you to recuperate afterward, or relax if you are a large group and need to rotate who is on the water (while others shout ‘advice’ from the sidelines!) everyone will get a chance to have fun on the water.

VINEBIKES
If you can’t decide whether you want to do something active with your group or stick to the age-old wine tasting, why not do both? Vinebikes offers daily tours in Stellenbosch and Franschhoek that allow you to do just that.
Vinebikes offers the opportunity to experience the Winelands on an electric bicycle that makes it even more enjoyable because you won’t get tired and everyone can keep up the same leisurely pace. All your energy can be spent on simply soaking up the scenery and surroundings as your e-bike assists you in pedalling.
Vinebikes send a guide with each group, who will lead you through side roads and through vineyards, giving you time to enjoy coffee, snacks, or a wine tasting at each farm.
