World Belly Dance Day
Mother’s Day is about celebrating mothers – and all women. The Feminine Divine invites all to celebrate World Belly Dance Day in show-stopping style. Share in the art form’s magic, beauty and vibrancy by catching mesmerising performances from over 20 studios in the Western Cape, on one exciting day.
Various items will be for sale too, inspired by and relating to belly dancing. All proceeds will be donated to the NPO Rape Crisis.

Lipizzaner Mamma Mia Celebration

RETZA 2-Hour Royal Enfield Motorbike Ride
Maybe your mom’s more sassy than others! Here’s a Mother’s Day in Cape Town with a difference. Spend a thrilling day out in the fresh air on a group motorcycle ride on Royal Enfield bikes.
RETZA offers two scenic routes to choose from:
– The Coastal Ride passes Table Mountain and travels to the Twelve Apostles hotel, where the group stops for a coffee overlooking the ocean. The group then rides back along Camps Bay and Sea Point, and ends back at the RETZA base in Salt River.
– The Harbour Ride takes the M3 and Rhodes Drive through the green forested next to Kirstenbosch Gardens. The route continues along the flank of Table Mountain, up to Constantia Nek, and down into Hout Bay, where the group stops for a coffee at a quaint place near the harbour, and then returns via the coastline of Llandudno and Camps Bay, ending at RETZA.

Cederberg Observatory Open Night
Here’s a real ‘getaway’ for those who don’t want to spend Mother’s Day in Cape Town. The Cederberg Astronomical Observatory invites all to a magical Saturday evening, surrounded by the Cederberg mountains, under some of the darkest skies in South Africa. This is a night dedicated to inspiring curiosity, sparking imagination, and fostering a deeper connection to the cosmos with enthusiastic attendees.
The evening starts with an opening presentation, providing guests with a sense of the scale of the universe as they begin a journey into space and the past. After the presentation, guests are given a ‘tour’ of the Southern Skies in which they’ll see clusters, nebulae and galaxies through high-tech telescopes. By the evening’s end, attendees will leave with a greater understanding and appreciation of the vast magnificence of the universe.

Spend the day creating new art with the woman you love most. The UCT Irma Stern Museum (ISM) invites art and history enthusiasts to a relaxed, non-judgemental, and experimental art class. Attendees are encouraged to draw from the creative legacy of one of South Africa’s most achieved artists to create their own masterpieces. However, the emphasis of the class is on exploring creativity, rather than learning art-making skills.
